I should have known that the lady of my dreams
Had caring hands.
For years she has had a special place in my memory
A memory which is shattered by sorrow.
In the times of my bewilderment
In the times of my loneliness
I would see her passing by on the bus, the underground and the unending roads.
She has always been one of my escape routes
Escape from harsh reality to wonderland.
In the flames of war
In the land of death, even through the smell of thousands of rotting bodies
I could smell her body: smell of life, smell of hope, smell of a survivor;
I could see her passing me in the narrow corridor between death and life.
She has always been with me, even in my darkest moment.
In the times when I was inhaling the blood of hatred
In the times when I was stripped of love
In the times when I was blinded with ignorance
In the times of madness and hallucinations
In the time when God gave up on humans.
In the time when humans gave up on the earth and enslaved themselves to the empty sky
She has always been with me to reflect reality back into my soul.
In the sunset of a suicide
She passed by, and showed the light of hope.
In the pain of a strange land
She brought me a cure: the dream of happiness.
ThatÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs why she has a special place in my dreams
Replenishing rain, trees dancing in the wind and tears of joy
Only happen in her presence.
She lives in a heaven of mirrors
A heaven with infinite images of beauty
She is my refuge.
I am a dream traveller, and wherever she is
There is always rescue and calm.
No one knows how special a place she holds in my dreams.
Travelling from dreams to reality.
I have always known that eventually that day would arrive
The day when I saw her in reality.
I can see her in the laughter of a child,
The caring hands of a mother,
The smile of an old man to his destiny,
The helping hand of a teacher, and the pulse of a happy town.
I should have known that the lady of my dreams
Had a caring heart.
ThatÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs why I continue to be a dream traveller.
