In 1970, I was born in a birthplace of revolution and sacrifice, Sulaimany, in an unrecognised country called Kurdistan. My country does not exist on the map but it lies in the north of Iraq. I graduated from an Iraqi Medical Techniciansâ Institute in 1990. At the end of 1998, I left Iraq with my wife and went to Germany where our daughter was born. We stayed there until 2002. I moved to the UK in 2002 where my son was born. I donât know how much longer I will stay here.
